I’m not buying this…figuratively and literally.

According to the AJC, “The Food and Drug Administration says it has confirmed low levels of an illegal fungicide in orange juice samples taken from Florida manufacturers.”

The article then goes on to say that, “The FDA says the fungicide is far below dangerous levels, the juice is safe to drink and the orange juice won’t be recalled from stores or destroyed. The juice tested was mixed with product from Brazil, where the fungicide carbendazim is used.”

According to Wikipedia, Carbendazim is a fungicide used to control plant diseases in cereals and fruit, including citrus, bananas, strawberries, pineapples, and pome.  Studies have found that high doses of carbendazim cause infertility and destroy the testicles of laboratory animals. Carbendazim was included in a biocide ban proposed by the Swedish Chemicals Agency and approved by the European Parliament on January 13, 2009.”

Hmm.  At one point weren’t cigarettes okay for you as well?  And leaded gasoline too, right?
